Welcome to my lesson on making a web page with Netscape Composer 6.0

Before beginning this tutorial, plan your web page, including content and purpose.  Know where your graphics are located, and the URLs of the links you are going to make.

1.  Open Netscape Navigator
2.  Tasks, Composer (now you have an untitled Composer document, so you are ready to compose)
3.  Now I can compose my web page
4.  Bay Running Insert, Image, Choose File (now go to the folder where your image is located.  Here is a sample image you can use if you wish: FSWNMU (or MacUser), Student, Dr. Howard, bayrun.gif, or choose an image from that folder or any folder.
5.  Double click on the image, select "more properties", "align text to image", "wrap to the left".  The picture is done, and placed to the right of the text.
6.  Put the cursor on the picture, one click, then press the right arrow key, then Enter or Return
7.  Your cursor is now on the next line and you are ready to type.
CREATING A LINK
I have decided that I want a link to a web site where my students can getting teaching ideas, so I am going to type: Click to go to Navajo Culture Ideas
8.  Before I go further, I am going to find that URL.  "Tasks", Navigator, http://www.wnmu.org/, Hosted Web Sites, Navajo Language and Culture Ideas, then when it comes up, I highlight the URL, "Edit", "Copy".  "Tasks", I find my Composer document that I am working on.
9.  Highlight that text, Click to go to Navajo Culture Ideas , then click (on the menu bar) "Insert", "Link", then "Command V" (Mac) or "Ctrl V" (Windows).  The URL appears.  Click, "OK".

10.  Repeat steps 7 - 9 to add other links to your page.  You can also link from a picture to a URL or another page.
